Installation Instructions
Yamaha R1 (09-10) Clutch Mod Kit
This package contains:
1 - Brock’s Performance Clutch-Mod©
Special Note: We recommend the use of a factory service manual for all Brock’s
Performance Product installations and/or maintenance.
A note before you begin: assembly is in EXACT reverse order of disassembly,
unless otherwise noted.
1. Remove clutch cover.
2. Loosen and remove all 6 clutch springs/tops and pressure plate.
3. Loosen clutch inner hub nut. (A special tool is available to hold the hub; we
use a glove to hold the inner hub and remove the nut with an impact gun.)
4. Remove the nut and the three (3) springs, the springs are not re-used.
5. Place the clutch mod onto the shaft with the recess over the clutch hub.
Replace the nut and torque to 85 lb-ft (115 Nm). (The glove and impact
gun trick works here also.)
6. Install the pressure plate and clutch springs.
7. Replace the cover/gasket. Install and torque the bolts to 8.7 lb-ft (12 Nm).
8. Adjust clutch free play per owner’s manual.
